When you want to sit back and immerse yourself in solving puzzles, the whole Professor Layton series is a great option.
Each puzzle is ordered from easy to difficult, and sometimes it doesn’t take you much time to find out the solution. Other time, however, you could be angry for not finding the answer for days.
- Layton fans who has finished The Last Specter
If you love the first trilogy of the Curious Village, Diabolical Box or Unwound Future, and you’re enjoying the story of Last Specter, then continue the story with the Miracle Mask. It features the old archenemy of Professor Layton, Luke and Emmy with a quite long story that help you know more about the beloved professor.
- People who love 3DS system
New mechanics is applied for the 3DS game, which is quite fun to try and enjoy. You will get new puzzles that are normally not included in the previous games.
Also, Level-5 is truly one of the best 3DS developers, with Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask features extraordinary 3D effect. The game is best enjoyed with 3D on, especially when you get used to the gimmick.
Good bye the DS era, as the Miracle Mask makes our characters move more lively than ever before.
Worst for
- People who want to emulate this game on a retro emulator
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask is perhaps one of the many games that is strictly required to play with a Nintendo 3DS. Without dual-screen and stylus, the game is sometimes really difficult to enjoy. So, at least buy an original hardware for this game.
Recommended handhelds to play
I only recommend Nintendo 3DS to enjoy a 3DS game, especially something with great 3D effect like Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.
There are a few handheld emulators that can play 3DS system well, but the dual-screen emulation on a single screen isn’t really good enough. Moreover, to perfectly emulate the 3DS system, you need a quite expensive handheld PC to do the task, which costs more than getting an used 3DS at the moment.
